Maverick Worms' Story

When Ed Clarke and June Hunter-Clarke met Ron Sneed in 2001 at the opening of their tackle shop, Tackle It, in Lakeport in Northern California, they knew his worms were special and so was he.

Over the years, they worked with Ron to develop unique color combos to respond to the changing conditions on Clear Lake. Ron's pouring expertise and mold designs combined with Ed Clarke's unique instincts about color have produced some amazing results. The rest is history.

Now Ed along with his wife, June Hunter- Clarke, and the rest of their team are taking over where Ron left off to help expand Maverick's reach beyond Northern California.

We pride ourselves on being able to adapt to the changing conditions. Anyone who knows bass fishing knows that what worked yesterday probably won't work today.

Successful fishermen must have an arsenal at their disposal to bring in the limits that win tournaments or just to "wow" their friends or clients. Maverick has the flexibility needed to meet the changing needs of our fishermen.

Hand-poured worms allow us to "play" with different ideas to continually develop combinations that work best.

We also partner with many experienced guides and tournament fishermen who are happy to test our ideas to see what works and what doesn't. Before we sell it, we have to know it works!

The fishing world outside of Clear Lake needs these worms and we're excited to bring them to you!
