We pride ourselves on being able to adapt to the changing conditions. Anyone who
knows bass fishing knows that what worked yesterday probably won't work today.
Successful fishermen must have an arsenal at their disposal to bring in the limits
that win tournaments or just to "wow" their friends or clients. Maverick has the
flexibility needed to meet the changing needs of our fishermen.
Hand-poured worms allow us to "play" with different ideas to continually develop
combinations that work best.
We also partner with many experienced guides and
tournament fishermen who are happy to test our ideas to see what works and what
doesn't. Before we sell it, we have to know it works!
The fishing world outside of Clear Lake needs these worms and we're excited to bring them to you!
"THE POWER OF PERSONALLY POURED PERFECTION"
THE HAND-POURED ADVANTAGE
Hand-poured worms are unique and that is what sets Maverick apart from the rest. Only
the best pours pass the quality control test to make it onto our shelf. We pride ourselves
on our quality.
When you buy a Maverick Worm, you know you are getting the best. These
worms are softer than the worms that are mass-produced. The fish like the feel which
means they won't let go. Our colors are constantly being updated and changed to meet the
needs of current conditions.

A FLEXIBLE COLOR PALETTE
[ VIEW OUR CURRENT COLORS ]
Right now there is a debate going on about how to deal with the selection of colors
on the website. Since we are making changes so regularly, it is hard to keep up on
the web!
Also, we can take a color that our customer brings in and either duplicate
it or tweek it just a bit to make it unique.
There is no limit to what we can with color, especially with Ed's unique instincts
about color. Ed can look at the water conditions and choose a color that will produce fish.
Maverick Worms' Story
When Ed Clarke and June Hunter-Clarke met Ron Sneed in 2001 at the opening of their tackle shop, Tackle It, in Lakeport in Northern California, they knew his worms were special and so was he.
Over the years, they worked with Ron to develop unique color combos to respond to the changing conditions on Clear Lake. Ron's pouring expertise and mold designs combined with Ed Clarke's unique instincts about color have produced some amazing results. The rest is history.
Now Ed along with his wife, June Hunter- Clarke, and the rest of their team are taking over where Ron left off to help expand Maverick's reach beyond Northern California.
Meet
Ed Clarke
Ed Clarke has been fishing since his days as a youngster pulling smallmouth bass
from the Schuylkill River in Pennsylvania.
After moving to California in 1986, he has
devoted his fishing career to the pursuit of quality largemouth bass mostly on Clear
Lake in Lake County, CA.
Special Note: in the spring of 2007, the Bassmasters professional bass fishermen
came to Clear Lake accompanied by ESPN and broke every one of their previous
records! Clear Lake: the Bass Fishing Capital of the West Coast and quite possibly
the world!
